The Community Meal is served Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:30 to 6:30 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 209 S. Allen St., Appleton, WI. Every meal begins with a prayer.

 

How You Can Help

            Volunteer opportunities exist for those who would like to assist with meals on either night. Volunteers are cross-trained for all areas and shift between stations as needed.

·         Set up (3-5 pm)

·         Meal preparation (3-7 pm)

·         Meal Stations (5-7 pm): Greeter, Sign-in, Server, Dishwasher

 

            If you are unable to volunteer on-site but would like to help, you may also donate baked dessert items.

            We operate on donations and grants. Contributions from individuals and businesses are greatly appreciated.

Who We Are

            Loaves & Fishes began in 1995 with the establishment of the Emergency Shelter Food Programs. Individual volunteers prepared meals at home and delivered them to the shelter. When the shelter moved to its present location on Division Street, volunteers began cooking at that facility. What began as a once a month meal grew to its present community service—volunteers providing an evening meal every day of the year to residents at the shelter.

            On November 1, 1999, the Community Meal of Loaves & Fishes, Inc. began providing an evening meal to anyone in the Valley who is hungry or alone. Initially operating on Monday nights, the program expanded in July 2010 to offer meals on Wednesday evenings as well.

 

Loaves & Fishes of the Fox Valley, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization.
