Trinity has had a long history of supporting homelessness in the Fox Cities. Here are some of the ways we are engaging with Pillars (formerly Homeless Connections, Housing Partnership & the Warming Shelter) right now.

Kids Welcome Bags

In 2019, 157 children from birth through age 18 received a welcome bag to help ease their transition into Pillars Adult & Family Shelter.  The bags include a stuffed animal or stuffie, books, soft blanket and an age-appropriate gift. Trinity supplies many of the items needed for the welcome bags.  The bags are assembled with love and delivered to the shelter as they are needed.

Camp Pillars & Kids Care

While parents attend a parenting class, their kids are watched by volunteers from Trinity once a month on a Wednesday night. Activities include games, crafts, reading, free play and even special theme parties for holidays or birthdays. Led by the group from Rooted, Trinity hosted “Camp Pillars” in summer 2019 for kids who couldn’t leave shelter to go to an offsite camp.

Trinity has participated in the Giving Tree and Help for the Homeless Hygiene Drive for years.  Countless rolls of toilet paper and paper towels have been donated in addition to personal hygiene, cleaning items and much more.
